During the 2019/2020 Rotary year, the Rotaract Club of Barbados hosted a Fashion Show dubbed Signature: The Strut Edition which showcased the works of local designers in clothing and jewelry. This fashion show was paired with the club's 4th Charter Anniversary Celebrations with two primary beneficiaries of the fundraiser — the Rotaract Club of Naguru in Uganda and the Nature Fun Ranch in Barbados.
From its proceeds the club contributes BDS $1500 (2,612,400 Ugandan Shillings) to the Rotaract Club of Naguru to assist with their efforts to construct a pit latrine for the students at St. Stephen’s Musalaba.
Further, the club was able to purchase over BDS $2,500.00 worth of materials, including:
- Concrete Board – Qty: 10
- 1/4″ Ply Wood – Qty: 6
- 1″ Dry Wall Screws – Qty: 4 Box
- White Paint 4040 – 1 Gallon
- 3/4 Plywood – 10 Sheets
- 2x4x16 – Qty: 16
- 4 boxes of 8penny nails (2 1/2″ nails)
These materials will be used to assist the Nature Fun Ranch in erecting a structure to store equipment used in the grooming of their animals and for maintenance of their grounds.
