On December 7, 2016 the library at the Micoud Secondary School was officially opened providing the nearly 700 students with a beautiful, modern, fully-stocked resource of the newest and best in reference, fiction, and non-fiction titles.

In 2014, through a joint effort with Hands Across The Sea (HATS) - a non-profit organization dedicated to raising literacy levels amonf children within the Eastern Caribbean - RC St. Lucia recognized that the Micoud Secondary School needed new books and a school library. Thanks to funding from Scotiabank's Bright Future initiative, HATS delivered a number of great new books to the school as part of the 2013-2014 Hands Wish Lists shipment. Unfortunately the school had no space for a dedicated library to properly house these books.

RC Saint Lucia stepped in with plans to renovate a nearby, abandoned, termite-damaged, wooden building into a library for the school. The project called for fumigation, the replacement and rebuilding of damaged parts of the structure including walls, ceilings, floors, as well as, the addition of new drywall, paint, electrics, and plumbing. With the addition of shelves, stacks and furniture and after much work by several Rotarians, Micoud Secondary School had its first-ever library to serve an outstanding element in raising the literacy levels of the students for years to come. Three cheers for the Rotary Club of Saint Lucia!
