My fellow Rotarians of District 7030,
As we begin the 2026–2027 Rotary year, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you.
Thank you for being a Rotarian.
Thank you for the dedication, sacrifice and passion you bring to your clubs, communities and projects. Across our District, I see Rotarians giving their time, sharing their expertise and working tirelessly to improve the lives of others.
Every club in District 7030 has its own identity, creativity, energy and vision. I am not asking you to change the meaningful work you are already doing. I encourage you to continue serving your communities in the ways that reflect your club’s strengths and priorities.
At the same time, I am inviting all of us to move forward together as one District, united by a shared purpose and a collective determination to create lasting impact.
Our greatest strength is our membership. With approximately 2,400 Rotarians across District 7030, we represent an extraordinary network of professionals, community leaders and people of action.
Individually, each Rotarian is remarkable. Together, we have the power to accomplish something truly extraordinary.
This year, I am calling on Rotarians to unite around four key initiatives that will amplify the work of our clubs and build greater momentum across the District.
The first three will be major District projects implemented cluster by cluster, bringing clubs together in common purpose.
Our first focus is cyberbullying and bullying in schools. We have an urgent responsibility to help protect our children and create safer, more supportive learning environments. With guidance from experts, we aim to develop a structured and sustainable programme that can become rooted in our schools and create meaningful change over time.
Our second focus is childhood obesity prevention. The health and well-being of our children are central to the future of our communities. Within our Rotary family, we already have doctors, educators, health professionals and community leaders with the knowledge and experience to make a difference. This year, the District will provide a framework through which we can mobilise that expertise collectively.
Our third focus is environmental sustainability. District 7030 is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and fragile islands, coastlines, coral reefs and forests. These natural resources are both our heritage and our responsibility. Rotary must continue to be a strong and active voice for their protection through practical and meaningful action.
These projects are not intended to place an additional burden on club agendas. They will be structured, supported and designed to integrate naturally into the rhythm of each club while connecting local service to a wider District impact.
The fourth initiative is a call for generosity.
I am inviting each of our approximately 2,400 Rotarians to identify one person within their personal or professional network who may be willing to contribute US$100 in support of Rotary projects.
If every Rotarian secures just one donation, together we could raise US$240,000 to strengthen and expand the impact of our work.
This is not about placing a financial burden on our members. It is about using the relationships we have built, the trust we have earned and the stories we can share to invite others to support Rotary.
One conversation, one sincere story and one invitation can lead to one meaningful contribution.
While these initiatives are important, my greatest focus is on you, our Rotarians.
You are the origin, the engine and the driving force behind the change Rotary brings to our communities. The destiny of District 7030 is literally in your hands. The success and impact of this year will depend on the energy, commitment and participation of every member.
I encourage you to speak about Rotary with pride. Invite others to become part of our family. Support The Rotary Foundation. Share the stories of the lives we are changing.
Above all, enjoy the journey.
Service without joy can lead to burnout. However, service carried out with love, fellowship and purpose lasts. It inspires others and is passed from one person to another.
As we enter this new Rotary year, continue the local service that reflects the identity and passion of your club. At the same time, I invite you to become part of a collective District momentum.
Imagine what is possible when approximately 2,400 committed Rotarians move together in the same direction, united through service, fellowship, generosity and purpose.
Let us carry the flame that first brought each of us to Rotary and use it to create meaningful, joyful and lasting impact throughout District 7030.
