Fellow Rotarians and the family of Rotary. Here we are seven months into our year, having learned new virtual skills and come to the realization that virtual meetings are here to stay.

The buzz words or phrases such as “north star”, “pivot”, and “zoom fatigue”, have been spent and we are settled into the reality of what is now - normal. You have survived, as have I and we are conscious that COVID-19 is here to stay. It is up to us how we adapt and stay safe.

This month, we emphasize Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution. In recognition of this, our Peace committee is hosting a virtual District meeting on February 23rd, in honour of Rotary’s 116th Birthday.

Our fabulous DGE Sonya has completed her final training at the International Assembly and she is now ready to take the reins in July. Please join me in wishing our DGE all the very best for her year in office, and let’s make it a date to be in Barbados next year for the celebration of all celebrations at the 2022 District Conference.

As you all know by now, the 2021 District Conference will be virtual, but it will be really exciting and well worth your time. Please ensure that your club registers at District 7030 Conference 2021 – Saint Lucia (www.districtconference7030.com) – one fee of $500 covers the entire club. We hope that you will join us, whether from home or as a group. Shortly you will receive the conference Polo design which you can produce in country or wherever suits you best. We will share best practice for setting up the perfect Hybrid meeting (some of you have this already), so that you can create the atmosphere of the conference by fellowshipping in country, if allowed under your COVID-19 safety protocols.

Stay safe and stay tuned as we provide more information on the District level activities.
