St. John’s Antigua, September 2016 – The Rotary Club of Antigua Sundown (RCAS) and several of its members contributed 23 back packs and supplies to the Back to School/Back Pack Project. Also joining RCAS were representatives of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) with another 6 filled back packs.

Founded by Miss Koren Norton (Social Worker and Counsellor) and Mrs. Corina Edwards-Sealy (a member of RCAS) in 2010; the initiative provides backpacks and supplies from funds and resources received from various sponsors and donors including discounts extended by supportive retail outlets. The backpacks are filled with school items for well deserving students attending primary and secondary school and has grown from (12) in its first year to a record breaking (113) this year.

A worthy initiative aligned with one of Rotary International’s focus areas of Basic Education & Literacy and recognizing our New Generations! Definitely a staple on the calendar.
